Pavilion of Serenity (Architecture)
Project Profile This concept adopts the theme "Pavilion of Serenity," aiming to create a calm and intimate coffee experience in the midst of urban hustle and bustle. The building design is inspired by the lines of urban forest boundaries, resulting in a curved shape that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape. The use of large glass panels on the facade connects the interior with the green surroundings, maximizing natural lighting and air circulation. Inside the cafe, the Omakase and Experiment Centre spaces are designed as an escape for coffee enthusiasts, offering a private atmosphere that allows visitors to explore, experiment, and enjoy coffee experiences intimately without distractions. Thus, this design creates an environment that supports social interaction and deep exploration of coffee, providing a much-needed escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Environmental Contribution This building contributes positively by preserving surrounding vegetation, using sustainable materials such as recycled wood, and implementing efficient rainwater management systems. Natural ventilation and energy-efficient systems reduce its carbon footprint, while the design promotes awareness of the importance of environmental preservation. The cafe becomes a refreshing space in the city, providing a unique experience that connects people with nature and green surroundings.

From Sub-Urban to City Nightlife Serenity
Design Concept: Japanese-Indonesian Harmony Our design emphasizes the seamless integration of Japanese and Indonesian cultures, creating a distinctive space that reflects the unique blend of these two traditions. By respecting both cultural elements, we craft interiors that are serene, functional, and rich in meaning. The use of materials such as Indonesian wood combined with Japanese patterns, and room layouts inspired by traditional Japanese homes, ensures a balance between cultural authenticity and modern functionality. Ground Floor: Traditional Japanese Serenity with Local Wisdom The ground floor draws inspiration from traditional Japanese suburban design (such as Kyoto), incorporating elements like shoji screens, tatami mats, and natural wood to create a tranquil and minimalist atmosphere. A small Zen garden with stones and fountains enhances the calming ambiance. To reflect Indonesian culture, we integrate local materials such as sungkai wood, andesite stone, and terracotta tiles, preserving the rich heritage of Indonesian craftsmanship. Wall art such as sumi-e paintings or wood carvings further strengthens the connection between these two cultures. The result is a harmonious space that honors the simplicity of Japanese aesthetics while celebrating Indonesia's local wisdom and materials. Second Floor: Vibrant "Shibuya Nightlife" Concept The second floor introduces a modern Japanese concept inspired by the dynamic energy of Shibuya nightlife. Designed for an interactive self-service experience, this space features touchscreens for ordering food and drinks, with dishes delivered through a central food lift. Neon signs guide visitors through the self-service layout, enhancing both functionality and the contemporary aesthetic. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a vibrant display of instant noodles, where they can select their preferred options before proceeding to the automated cooking station. Additionally, a photo spot created from recycled magazines adds an iconic, Instagram-worthy element. Upcycled materials, such as reused bottle crates for sink bases and cork panels for seating and wall accents, showcase our commitment to sustainability while adding character to the space. Third Floor: Kimono Rental and Photo Studio with Japanese-Local Fusion Returning to a traditional concept, the third floor offers a unique experience with kimono rentals and a photo studio, blending Japanese design elements such as tatami, shoji screens, and lanterns with Indonesian touches like traditional wood carvings and ethnic art. Separate spaces are provided for men’s and women’s kimono rentals, including changing rooms and touch-up areas. Visitors can wear their chosen kimono while exploring the venue or book a photoshoot in the studio for a memorable experience. The floor also features a waiting area with display cabinets for souvenir sales, creating a complete cultural journey. Through these layered concepts, we combine the tranquility of traditional Japanese design with the richness of Indonesian heritage, crafting a space that is not only visually stunning but also meaningful and memorable for all visitors.
